Mobile phone pouches
Implementation
From Monday 2nd June 2025, we will be launching the phone pouch system at Barclay.
Students should arrive at school as normal. During the day, each student will be issued with a uniquely numbered phone pouch. Prior to receiving their pouch, they will be required to sign a document acknowledging the system and their responsibilities. We also refer you to the updated Student Phone Policy. A copy of both these documents are attached to this email for your reference.
To support a smooth transition to the new system, we will be staggering the end of the school day for the first four days (Monday 2nd – Thursday 5th June) as follows:
- Year 7 – 2.40pm finish
- Year 8 – 2.50pm finish
- Year 9 – 3.00pm finish
- Years 10, 11, and Sixth Form – 3.10pm finish as normal
Normal school timings will resume on Friday 6th June. Should any adjustments to these times be necessary, we will communicate these to you in advance.
Please note: Students with detentions on these days are still expected to attend them at 3.10pm, regardless of their year group’s earlier finish time.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we implement this new initiative.
