Sixth Form at Barclay is very strong, particularly through opportunities like the Future Scholars Programme, which has encouraged me to be more aspirational. University trips have helped widen my connections, develop my networking skills and even led to work experience opportunities. Teachers are supportive, and the Sixth Form team are always willing to listen.

One of the best aspects of Barclay Academy Sixth Form is the opportunity to take part in the Future Scholars Programme. It has given me valuable insight into prestigious universities while helping me develop transferable skills such as communication and networking. I also really value the independence Sixth Form offers, alongside the consistent support from teachers.

Coming to Sixth Form has provided me with a safe and supportive environment to continue my education. It has helped me become more independent, particularly with organisation and time management. I have also enjoyed mentoring a Year 7 student through the Oppidan programme, which has been very rewarding. Barclay Academy has inspired me to aim higher and work harder, and the support I’ve received has given me the confidence to pursue my goals, including securing the grades needed for a Russell Group university.

Barclay Sixth Form has provided me with valuable enrichment opportunities that have helped me grow in confidence. I support a Classics club for younger students and have worked with MCR Pathways, including contributing to the development of a wellbeing app. These experiences have allowed me to develop new skills and ensure my voice is heard. Sixth Form has given me the opportunity to explore different career options and pathways to support my future. Barclay has provided valuable advice on careers and opportunities, alongside experiences with top universities, including an Imperial work experience placement.

Although the workload is higher, the smaller class sizes mean you receive focused teaching and strong one-to-one support, which helps you stay on track. Sixth Form has also helped me develop skills beyond my subjects, teaching me to work hard and build the resilience needed to achieve my future goals.
